'If you throw yourself wholeheartedly
into the practice of holy abandonment,
without noticing it you will make much progress,
just as do the passengers on board a ship
sailing on the high seas under favorable winds,
relying completely on the guidance of the captain.'
St. Francis de Sales

I wish I didn't get sea-sick. It must be wonderful to actually enjoy riding the ocean waves!
ReplyDeleteIt takes great effort for me to trust someone else to carry me safely to shore. In truth, I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to the abandoning my own will. And yet it's the very thing I know is needed.. and which I want to do!
Ahh, trust. May God grant it to us!
