'God allows His greatest servants to make the most humiliating mistakes.
This humbles them in their own eyes and in the eyes of their fellow men.
It prevents them from seeing and taking pride in the graces God bestows on them.'
St. Louis de Montfort

Thank you, Nancy, for validating all my cringe moments. I often wondered how God made me so dumb when I'm made in His image! Oh dear, now the memories are all coming back... Like the time I screamed out to the whole class that I was dying during Year 4 swimming lessons. It gets worse...much worse...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your great articles, Nancy xx
Oh, I can so identify with cringe moments! Oh my heavens, can I EVER.
DeleteDoes this mean we're among His greatest servants?? ;) ????!?
Thanks so much, Vicky.
Oh my, I so love this quote. We are in St Louis de Montfort parish, have been for 18 years...before we moved here, I never heard of St L! Shame on me.
ReplyDeleteI've grown to love him more and more! This is perfect!

Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much, Chris!
DeleteI continue to know plenty of "cringe moments" too.
ReplyDeleteBut I also know that it really is a great spiritual kindness of our Lord to allow us to be humbled in front of others...even if it takes a good while before we see it that way! xx
I've had a few cringe moments just in this last week, Trish. So... thanks be to God!
